Home Stone Granite

Used extensively in construction, granite has long been revered for its distinct durability. Granite lined the tunnels of the Great Pyramids of Egypt and added depth and grandeur to the exterior of the Empire State Building. Impervious to grease, stains, scratches and heat, granite can be an ideal choice for countertops, tabletops, floors and other heavy-duty applications. The flecked look of granites is caused by the presence of mica, quartz and feldspar which produces different size grains, colours and swirls and which give this material such charisma. It is not affected by erosion or climatic changes and is therefore the perfect material for decorating and cladding high transit areas. Granite’s regular and granulated texture makes it suitable for any type of finish, polished, riverwashed, leather, honed, sandblasted, bush-hamered, flamed and glitted. Although the traditional and uniform granites with a medium-sized grain are the best known, GMP has a wide portfolio of brasilian exotic and exclusive materials with different colors, tonalities and swirls, including some with large veins. No other collection of granites can be compared to GMP’s in terms of its range, colors and access to exotic materials. Its wide portfolio can be used in a large number of different applications, trends in architecture and interior design, from walls and floors, to state-of the-art countertops.
